Music to Your Mouth and More

Music has a way of bringing people together, and countless musicians have united people in the work of ending hunger. In the last thirty-plus years, MANNA FoodBank has been the beneficiary of numerous concerts. These events range from small house parties where people “pass the hat” to large arena shows featuring renowned professional musicians.

Here are three upcoming musical events that benefit MANNA:

Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers play Pisgah Brewing on Friday, June 27th on Pisgah Brewing’s outdoor stage. Truth and Salvage Company opens. Hornsby is an incredible musician with a long and varied career. He toured with the Grateful Dead and has had a very successful solo career, including the hit, “That’s Just the Way It Is.” Luella’s B-B-Que is donating $1000 to MANNA in association with this event. Josh Stack, founder and director of the organization F.A.T.E., Funding America Through Entertainment, is promoting this event. For more information visit pisgahbrewing.com

Music to Your Mouth is a concert series that takes place at several locations throughout the country.  The event’s purpose is to, “…create opportunities for chefs, artisans, winemakers, and members of our community to experience the stories that surround food, and the bonds forged through sharing a meal.” The event will be held at Lake James the weekend of June 27-29th. $10 is donated to MANNA for each ticket sold.  Featured chefs include Jacob Sessoms, executive chef and owner of Table Restaurant. Beer is provided by Hi Wire, and Kristian Bush of the duo Sugarland is providing the musical entertainment.  For more information visit musictoyourmouth.com

This promises to be an exciting evening with world-renowned artists including Oscar winners, Grammy winners, Billboard-chart toppers and more! The event will be held at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium on September 27th. Tickets and sponsorships are available; for more information visit http://www.aso927.com/
