What Is the Student Food Drive?

Our Student Food Drive is an annual competition among schools in Western North Carolina to support MANNA FoodBank and our 200+ dedicated partner agencies.

Did you know that in Western North Carolina, 1 in 4 children experience food insecurity? For more than a decade, students in our region have joined together to collect food donations, host fundraisers, and educate their communities about the ever-growing problem of food insecurity in WNC.

We’re proud to work with each school, faculty member, and student toward MANNA’s mission of involving, educating, and uniting people in the work of ending hunger in our region. MANNA and our network of partner agencies strive to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children and families every single day.

Invite your schools to join us in the fight against hunger and sign up today!

Student Food Drive 2024

The 15th Annual Student Food Drive will run through February and schools are welcome to hold their drives for any duration of the month.

Last year, participating schools raised
16,156 lbs. of food and $7,010. These donations allowed MANNA to provide 41,504 meals to our neighbors in WNC!

This community-wide food drive is one of the most important and exciting events that we coordinate. It’s a great way for students to be involved, educated, and united in their community. The Student Food Drive also provides an opportunity for WNC schools to engage in a little bit of healthy competition…

In 2023, TC Roberson High School collected 4,480lbs of food.

Who can overtake the Rams this year? 💪🐐🏆

The Student Food Drive is accessible to everyone – even if you’re not a student! You can support your school by making a donation to their food drive efforts.
