It is difficult to add a food to your diet when you aren’t familiar with how to prepare it in a tasty way. We encourage our partners to take lots of produce because it adds so much nutrition to a meal; plus, a diet that includes lots of fruits and veggies can really fill a belly up and keep hunger pangs away. In a combined effort between MANNA and AmeriCorps volunteers, we have created a recipe book to give ideas and inspiration on just what to do with that eggplant (or rutabaga or parsnips) so that your clients can enjoy great nutrition and spread the love of new foods to their families. Leanne Brown also created a great cookbook designed to fit within a food stamp budget while staying healthy.
