MANNA FOODBANK VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES
|

|

|
Processing Assistant- sort, clean, label, check salvage food and non-food items; assist with cleaning of warehouse areas; some lifting (Monday through Friday)
|
|
Mobile FoodBank Delivery Assistant-
assist MANNA's driver on rural food delivery, off load orders, keep track of product being off loaded for confirmation, ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds; dependable (Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday-truck leaves MANNA at 8:00am)
|

Distribution Associate- assist in restocking distribution room; organize and number product; weigh out product; restock freezer and cooler; some lifting (Monday through Friday)
|
|

|
Agency Relations-
coordinate and conduct on-site monitoring visits with member agencies, oversee new agency recruitments, coordinate agency surveys and events; some travel required. (weekdays, evenings or weekends)
|
|
Librarian/Historian- organize scrapbooks by clipping articles, file brochures and newsletters, catalogue information, 2 hours a week (Monday through Friday)
|
|

|
Warehouse Assistant- assist with preparing rural mobile delivery orders; assist in loading and unloading vehicles; clean and organize warehouse; some heavy lifting (Monday through Friday)
|
|
Business Office/Computer Assistant- data entry, bulk mailings, assist with phone and questions (3 hours shifts Monday through Friday between 9am and 4pm)
|
|

Drivers- assist staff with local food pickups of donated product and food drive food; use own SUV, pickup with shell or other large vehicle, ability to lift moderately heavy boxes, proof of valid
drivers license and insurance (Monday through Friday, hour flexible)
|
|

Carpenter/Woodworker- build bookshelves in office, build an interior wall with a door, must be 21 years old or older, able to produce "finish" quality work. Also build produce racks for
MANNAagencies.(Monday through Friday, hours flexible)
|
|
Public Speaker/Outreach Educator-
inform and educate individuals about MANNA, assist with warehouse tours and agency fairs, speak at churches and organizations (weekday, evening and/or weekends). Join MANNA's Speakers' Bureau.

|

|
Agency shopper- assist agencies with shopping needs in distribution, lifting, locating and deciding what food times agency would use; some lifting (Monday through Friday)
|
|

|
Holiday Decorator
(seasonal)- design and create festive decorations to add "pizazz" to the Ingles Giving Tree; brainstorm in June, make decorations in October, assist with building of tree the Sunday evening before Thanksgiving.
|
|
Nutrition Advocate-
Select, develop recipes for foods in distribution; select, develop, evaluate and update nutrition education materials; instruct groups, individuals and agencies on health promotion and therapeutic diets; requires BA in Food/Nutrition/Dietetics or related field ADA registration and one year work experience.
|

Food Drive Organizers, Collectors & Sorters-
recruit, design and organize food drive projects through schools, corporations, organizations, etc., create theme and product sculptures, develop reward system (flexible times). Assistant with National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive, Saturday of Mother's Day weekend every year, brainstorming meeting first of March, educate public and solicit corporate assistance (March to May, 6 hours a week)

Grant Writer- assist with grant applications, collect necessary information, pictures, etc. requested; good writing and organizational skills.
Annual BJB Organizers- help with this exciting annual event that happens June each year. Be part of one of our committees: Decorations, Entertainment, Food & Beverage, PR & Invitations,
Silent Auction, Sponsorship. Help us decide each years' theme!
